 Ministry Opportunity

We had been planning on a team from Carol Ann's home church to come this summer and help us run a VBS and possibly soccer camp for Kurdish kids.
This fell through. We'd like to know if there might be a BFC group that we could talk to about this (preferably mid-July). We realize it's late to begin this discussion, but I gave the reason above. I'm also wondering if a team from my home church (Faith BFC in Lancaster) might come.

In His Hands,

Nelson's Nuggets - How Majestic Is His Name, Part II

In May I told you about the wonderful donation of new baseball, football and basketball clothing that Majestic Sportswear in Bangor donated for our aid ministry overseas. At that time she indicated that she might be interested in a second donation this fall. Well on Saturday my wife and parents in law paid them another visit and we left with twelve large contractor bags of t-shirts, baseball uniform type shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, etc. Most, if not all, had either a team logo on them or celebrated an event such as the World Series or NBA playoffs. Many of the items were youth sizes which will be great for our trips to orphanages and schools. My what a country we live in where there are people like the owner of Majestic who is willing to provide these items at no cost and has requested nothing in return. Each time now I think of Majestic I think of the Sandi Patti song and how majestic is His name.

I am writing this to you from Slidell, LA. Five of us from four different Bible Fellowship churches arrived here today (Sunday 12/4) to work on houses devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The drive from the New Orleans Airport took us right through the business district of New Orleans. What devastation, unlike other disasters, it appeared that every house or business was hit, none were missed. Please pray for us as we work here this week and as we travel home on Saturday, December 11.

 Urbana 2006

URBANA 2006 December 27-31, 2006

URBANA is only 383 days away.

NOW is the time to begin to plan for this great experience. There is no getting around the fact that URBANA is expensive. If you immediately begin a consistent savings plan there is no reason why this important missions conference should be out of your reach.

Get all of your questions answered at:
http://www.urbana.org/u2006.faq.cfm

Urbana offers a multiplicity of experiences and opportunities under one roof. Participants hear the word of God, learn about the current state of global missions, worship and study with thousands in a diverse gathering of world Christians, and interact with hundreds of different missionaries and agency
representatives. Anyone who is serious about discovering their place in Gods mission will benefit from Urbana 06s program and the abundant resources present.

 Ministry Opportunity - Bayou Bound

 Work Teams to Louisiana Planned

Team 2 - Jan. 8-14, 2006

Approx cost $400 includes airfare

Chris Merrick and Nelson Randolph are planning trips to Louisiana to help with the reconstruction of homes and churches. Two trips are in the works, one in December, leaving Saturday the third and returning on Sunday the eleventh. Dates for the second trip in January are 8-14. While construction work experience would be great, no experience is necessary; on the job training will be provided. Trips will be coordinated through Faith Bible Church in Slidell, LA. If you are interested, please call the Board of Missions office at 610-398-8776.

Mission Trip Report - Louisiana Team I

Praise The Lord, Praise The Lord.

We left Cedar Crest at 4:15 a.m. and arrived at Newark around 6:15 a.m. The roads were pretty awful.

We made it on our plane in time and then it was almost two hours before it took off, I think most of us slept during that wait.

We arrived in Houston too late for our connection, even too late for the newly assigned connection so we were wait listed for the next flight almost two hours later, it at least gave us a chance to eat, hallelujah!!

We all got on the flight and arrived in New Orleans around 3:30 p.m. We drove from the airport right through the middle of the city on I-10, boy what an eye opener.

We are at Faith Bible Church in Slidell and we have unpacked and are waiting for supper, you know flying is a very stressful job and we are all starving.

Pray for us this week, Chris Merrick, Steve Klase, Jim Fisher, Scott Yuill and yours truly.

Nelson and team

 Final Thoughts
Most career missionaries serving around the world look back on a short term missions trip as the foremost influence God used in their lives in making a decision to serve Him full time!
Until next time,
May we be a shining light to the nations, A shining light to the people of the earth; Til the whole world sees the glory of Your name. May Your pure light shine through us.

Your Response is Always Appreciated
