Missionary Leaves for Kenya |
|
|
|
Jenny Palmer
will be departing for Kenya January
12th. She will be in Nairobi a few
months for language study before she
begins her physical therapy ministry in
Kajiado. Pray for traveling mercies and
culture adjustment.
Caution: Jenny received her
passion for missions on her first short
term missions trip. IT is a fact
that an extraordinary number of career
missionaries point back to a short term
trip as the time that God made clear
upon their lives His call to career
missions. If you are part of a
short term trip in 2005, keep your
spiritual ears and eyes open to God’s
leading!

“What Get’s You
Excited!!!”
The people that know me well say that I
get excited about things that others
find ordinary or uninteresting.
For example, I get excited about
coupons, clearance sales, yard sales,
underwear and sock sales, $2 shoes,
rebates and the list goes on and on.
But I get really excited when someone
gives me $20 for our ministry and I know
that they are giving it sacrificially,
or when someone that travels with us
feels called to be a missionary, or when
a small child comes out of their home
wearing clothing we gave them two or
three months before. It is the
latter list that makes the first list so
exciting because one fuels the other.
Now, what makes you excited? What
gets your motor running? Have you
ever thought about it?? Make a
list, I hope it is a long one because
getting excited is a wonderful gift from
God that we were meant to enjoy.
For me, there is one last thing that I
can’t leave out, and it is taking people
like you overseas on short-term mission
trips. There is just something
about seeing someone experience another
culture and then to see them act
differently upon returning to the good
ole USA.. If you are reading this
you have probably been on one or more
short-term mission trips in your
lifetime. This is the year for you
to prompt someone new to go, and to
experience, and to GET EXCITED!!
Make that your goal in 2005, help
someone in your church to experience
what you and I already know.
Blessings to you and yours in 2005!
