Greetings Let’s Fishers!

You just heard the financial figure you need to raise in order to be part of the missions short term ministry. The figures is much larger than you ever expected and immediately you feel it is far beyond you ability to ever reach.

GOOD!

That is exactly where God wants you! He wants you to completely depend upon Him! You will soon learn that every facet of your short term trip will demand total dependence upon God. Meditate on the follow statement from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians:

My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength— that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. (The Message)

 Urbana '06

Plan ahead for Urbana

Urbana 06 will take place from December 27 through 31, 2006. Details will be provided on Let’s Fish as the convention nears.

Notice Change of Venue:
Alec Hill, President of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, today announced that InterVarsity’s 21st Urbana Student Mission Convention will have a new look and a new location when it convenes in December 2006 in St. Louis, Missouri. It will, however, continue the tradition of offering college students and recent graduates a world-class exposure to global missions in a unique five-day event between Christmas and New Year’s.

 Ministry Training
Christian Education Training Day

"Give of Your best to the Master" is an old gospel song. Each of three verses begins with those same words and then concludes "give Him the best that you have."

Bfc Training Day, Saturday, April 2nd is an equipping ministry of the Board of Christian Education. In an effort to help us on the path of quality service some 25 practical training sessions are being offered.

One track features Aaron Hoffman of Wycliffe Bible Translators. In a two part presentation, the topic of "Training the Next Generation for Missions" is addressed. The sessions could however stand independently.

In the morning session, the topic is presented through the eyes of the local church and Christian education. The afternoon session considers things in the context of the home and parents.

There are local workers and parents that will want to be informed of this and other Training Day opportunities. You can help by forwarding this information directly to them. Additional registration folders and complete session listing is available on request.

The Training Day event location is Calvary Church, Coopersburg. Pre-registration: $10 (Walk-in cost: $15) with checks payable Bfc Bd of Christian Ed. Mail: G. Wayne Clapier, 4426 Van Kirk St., Phila. PA 19135

Thanks.

Ministry Opportunity
Life Changes Quickly

March 15, 2005

Last Sunday a fire destroyed forty percent of the Newark Bible Center. Felicia and I are living in a temporary situation in Union NJ. As I write this , the cause of the fire is being investigated by the City of Newark, the Fire Department and the Insurance Company. All three have investigators working on the case.

We went to Camden County on Saturday to participate in a conference. When we returned on Sunday at 3:30 P.M. I heard the smoke alarms as I approached the door, and upon opening the door a gush of black smoke engulfed us. We ran to the road and asked a passerby to call the Fire Company. They were here in four minutes and promptly went to work. There were no injuries as no one was in the building. Felicia and I are well.

We are thanking the Lord for His sustaining grace.
Sincerely,
Totoram Baran
