Missions Incredible

by Rob Moll
...mission scholars agree that Koreans are a potent vanguard for an emerging missionary movement that is about to eclipse centuries of Western-dominated Protestant missions. They call it the "majority-world" mission movement. They say this new term"majority world"is necessary to replace the aging terms "third world" and "developing world." The radical change in Protestant missions is forcing scholars and missionaries to create new ways of talking about the global scene.

The global majority (5.2 billion people) live in less developed nations. Of the world's 6.4 billion people, less than 18 percent live in developed nations. Scholars say the church's future in large measure rests in the hands of the global majority.

"The day of Western missionary dominance is over, not because Western missionaries have died off," says Scott Moreau, chair of intercultural studies at Wheaton College (Illinois), "but because the rest of the world has caught the vision and is engaged and energized."

 Ministry Opportunities

Missions Opportunities from Your Living Room

Brasilia International School (Brazil) is looking for missions-minded individuals to help with some present needs at the school. BIS is in need of updating its website. This is a mission-service project that could be down without leaving your own home. If you are gifted in the area of web-design, perhaps the Lord could use you to meet a need we have! Also, BIS is in need of a financial audit. If you are a missions-minded CPA, we can use your help! For more information about either of these mission service opportunities, please contact Stacey Bose at staceybose@ig.com.br

Summer Ministry Opportunity

We, here at the CAPE MAY COUNTY Mission Church, would like to have a weekly Friday night music program and/or hymn sing during the summer months. Our plan is to advertise these Friday nights to the public and hold them as an outreach. We think this would be a blessing to any believers in the area on their summer vacation. There are many musically-talented members or groups within the BFC, and believe some of you could be planning on coming to the Cape May area at various times for a summer get-away or retreat. If so, you may be interested in ministering here as well. If that be the case, please contact me at:

Frank Lenahan, at LenahanClan@aol.com, or phone: (609)-463-4909, where you will most likely get my wife, Sandy, who is the musically gifted one in our family.

Come and spend a summer weekend at the beautiful shore and the Cape May Mission Church

Thank You, and may the Lord bless us as we ministry together to grow His Kingdom.

Why Missions? Why Me?

by John M. Criswell

Motivation for Mission

God's main intention in human history is to reunite himself with a world that is estranged by sin. All that he is doing in space and time is an effort to further that desire. From the first verses of Genesis to the last verses of Revelation, his intention is articulated and illustrated. The wonder of it all is that he wants to accomplish this mission through the faithfulness of people like you and me.
