How Do I Know God's Call?
|
| By Dana Weller |
|
I met with a young girl
this morning who is planning on going on
her second short term mission trip. What
made this meeting unique was the
openness of this person to do what ever
it was that God would have her to do.
She had no preconceived ideas other than
to be a follower of Jesus Christ and to
fulfill His vision of the World in what
ever way she was called. The question
now becomes HOW DO I KNOW GOD’S CALL?
Fortunately this young girl goes to a
church that will be able to assist her
in this issue because it is a church
that is prepared to deal with such
matter. I explained to her some of the
concepts we teach at our yearly RWR
sponsored by the Board of Missions. (See
the advertisement below)
I explained that her church will be
going through a Dual Reach seminar
shortly where the church will be better
prepared to gain a focus on ministry and
then slot her into that corporate focus.
(Church leader can contact me for
information on Dual Reach Seminars at
weller@bfcbom.org.
The exciting thing is that this young
woman is beginning her quest to find
God’s will by involving her church and
the resources of others. If you have a
desire to serve the Lord I highly
recommend that you plan on being part of
the BOMRWR this fall! See you there?

Urgent Ministry Need
in Spain
We just received notice this week
that the church that was planning on
sending a short term team to Spain to
provide a DVBS program for our
missionary kids during our annual
conference has needed to cancel. So,
this is a last minute invitation to our
supporting churches and families - would
you know of anyone who would like to
minister to MKs in this way this summer?
Our conference dates are from July
9-16th, but it would be best for a team
(or a family who would like to help) to
arrive a few days before in order to get
over jet lag. We normally have a program
for preschool/elementary; jr. high; and
high school ages - with sessions in the
mornings and the evenings, and free time
in the afternoons. Last summer, we had a
church provide the program for 2 of
those groups and another family came to
provide the program for the 3rd group
(so they don't necessarily all need to
be part of the same group). If anyone is
interested in more information, please
let us know and we can get some
specifics from the couple who has been
trying to organize our conference.
Thanks so much for prayerfully
considering this ministry opportunity!!
In Him,
John, Judy, Timothy and Alyssa
Nicelyl

| I enjoyed your little
piece on Full Moon. What a precious way
to honor your God ... by praying in the
light of the full moon. I too am moved
by God's beauty when I gaze into a star
lit night.... it's a time made for
prayer. Eileen

Airlines Crack Down on Heavy, Extra Bags
The days of airline ticket agents
giving a break to fliers with extra
baggage may be fading as fast as paper
tickets.
Saddled with increased fuel costs and
looking for more revenue, airlines are
raising prices and tightening their
checked-bag policies.
They're also cracking down on
overweight and oversized bags that can
cause injuries to their employees.

The following fees are
charged by airlines for
excess, overweight and
oversized checked bags on
domestic flights. Most
airlines allow two checked
bags free of
charge if they meet weight
and size limits. JetBlue,
Southwest and ATA allow
three. |

Our
God is Truly an Awesome God!
Our last trip to Kosovo
consisted of distributing items to
almost 2,200 kids in one school. The
building itself didn’t look like it
could hold that many kids and it
couldn’t, they ran three shifts every
school day from seven in the morning
until seven at night. We worked three
days alone just to sort all the items,
hundreds of fruit snacks, socks,
pencils, pens, erasers, toothbrushes,
toothpaste, candy, gum and small toys
and hair items for the girls. Then we
spent three days visiting every one of
the 80 plus classes getting to know the
kids and explaining why we were there.
On the last day, in the last class, a
class of second graders, the teacher
told us that there was one girl who
wanted to sing us a song in English. She
promptly stood and sang at full volume,
“Our God Is An Awesome God!!” You could
have pushed us over with a feather. Here
the young lady had participated in a
summer camp the year before put on by
our missionary friends in Kosovo. She
and her other brothers and sisters had
come every day and she had learned the
song and not forgotten it. What a capper
for an awesome trip.

RWR SET!!!
The Board of Missions Retreat Within
a Retreat is set for November 18-20.
This is an opportunity for High School
and Collage age young people to both
work together and participate in an
extensive study on Knowing Gods Will. We
will have a missionary on hand for the
weekend so we can have a first person
account of the process of choosing
career missions. Check out
2004 RWR and then register at
office@bfcbom.org.
